While Nittardi has only Sangiovese grapes, the San Quirico vineyard, planted in 1968, has Sangiovese and small amounts of seven other local grape varieties, including Canaiolo, Colorino and Malvasia Nera. Both vineyards enjoy a mix of limestone and clay soil with a rich slate framework, which gives the wine a pleasant minerality.
Intense aromas of cherry, blackberry, Mediterranean herbs, violet and fresh soil. Medium-bodied in the mouth with high tannins, freshness and velvety feel. Enjoy Nittardi Belcanto Chianti Classico 2020 at around 16 degrees Celsius, in a red wine glass.
