LAFITE ROTHSCHILD - PAUILLAC 2014 750ml

The 2014 Château Lafite Rothschild is a highly praised Premier Cru Classé (First Growth) from Pauillac. The 2014 vintage in Bordeaux is often referred to as a "miracle vintage" for the Left Bank—a cool, damp summer was rescued by an exceptionally warm, sunny Indian summer spanning September and October. This allowed the Cabernet Sauvignon to ripen slowly and perfectly, yielding a classically proportioned, incredibly precise Lafite.

 The Blend: Heavily dominant in Cabernet, it is composed of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, and 3% Cabernet Franc.
Character: Critics frequently note that the 2014 expression is surprisingly opulent and extroverted on the nose for a young Lafite. James Suckling (98 Points) lauded its intense aromas of stones, oyster shell, and deep energy. Neal Martin highlighted a bouquet bursting with blackberry, graphite, and cedar, anchored by crisp, tightly focused tannins.
